How BoardSites works.
A purpose-built website builder for Massachusetts public retirement boards, with productivity tools your administrators won’t want to give up.
Five steps to live
- 1
Sign up and pick a tier
Standard ($249/mo), Professional ($499/mo), or Premium ($899/mo). 30-day free trial on Standard and Professional. Paid pilot on Premium ($500 credited if you sign on).
- 2
Walk through the 9-step onboarding
Identity, branding, member portal, board members, office staff, templated pages, universal pages, helpful links, deploy. The starter kit pre-fills MGL Ch. 32 explainers, COLA tables, PERAC posting templates — you review and customize.
- 3
Edit on the staging subdomain
Your board has a staging address at {board}.boardsites.app — admins log in there to edit content. The custom domain (e.g. www.yourboard.gov) only ever shows what you have explicitly deployed. Nothing goes live by accident.
- 4
Deploy when ready
When the working set looks right, click Deploy to live site on the Pending Changes screen. Every published page, post, meeting, and document is promoted in one atomic transaction. The custom-domain visitor sees the new content immediately.
- 5
Iterate continuously
No release cycles. No vendor change requests. Edit, preview on staging, deploy. Repeat as often as you want. We never charge per change.
What makes BoardSites different
A retirement-board starter kit, not an empty canvas
Generic website builders hand you a blank canvas and expect you to write 17 pages of MGL Ch. 32 explainers from scratch. We pre-write them — PERAC-ready, with COLA tables, GPO/WEP explainers, and the standard postings retirement-board administrators are required to publish. You fill in the board-specific blanks.
Productivity tools, not just a website
Tasks, unified calendar, public records request workflow. RFP management is the marquee Premium feature: state-machine driven, built around MGL c. 32 § 23B, with the Goods and Services Bulletin posting requirement built in. AI-assisted minutes posting takes the weekly 30-minute chore down to two minutes.
Working/Live, not "preview if you remember"
Most website builders have a save button and that’s it — what you save goes live. We separate the working set from the live tier. Visitors to your custom domain only see what you’ve explicitly deployed. Mistakes stay on staging.
WCAG 2.1 AA as a floor
axe-core runs in CI. Skip-to-content links, semantic landmarks, labeled forms, tokenized color contrast — built into the site shell, not bolted on as a widget. ADA Title II compliant across every tier.
